We Have Moved ....!!!!

Yeah, we have moved in.........the house is not sold, but we moved anyways.  "I" was moving regardless of the house being sold, cause I wanted my kitties out of the way for house viewings, but Luke came along too.

The house went back on the market on February 6th.  Keep your fingers crossed for us please.

We are loving the new house. Both of us are sleeping well and the kittens have adjusted. They don't  have as much room to run around, but way more birdies, chipmunks and squirrels to look at. The hour less driving time for Luke is great too, cause as he said that last 20 minutes driving to Cambridge every night is tough cause he is always tired.

We still have lots to do ..........the dryer has to be converted over to propane, the dishwasher and water lines to the fridge has to get done.

Nolan has moved into his new house too and is only 3 minutes away.  He has helped us lots and lots; don't know what we would have done if he wasn't there to help us.

So, now its a matter of putting things away, putting things up, and getting organized..........we are loving our little house.

Keep Your Fingers Crossed!!!!!! Please

Please keep your fingers crossed for us.

On Saturday I got a call from a Real Estate company and they had someone they wanted to bring through the house.  On Sunday, we thought we might get a call back saying they wanted to take a second look.....but that didn't happen.

I know we shouldn't get our hopes up, but after all this time it is hard not to. So, needless to say, Luke and I were dissappointed.

Then today........the same Real Estate company calls and say they have someone they want to bring through........is it the same people?  Is it different people?  Here we go again....getting our hopes up.

So..............

So, let me tell you the story about our move that hasn't really happened.

Last year, Luke worked in Alberta with our 2 sons.  He was out there for 7 months, and it was a long time.  Long time for me to be home here in our new house, working full time, looking after one of our sons houses, trying to start a business from home, and doing all the outdoor work.  Again, it was a long 7 months.

So while Luke was out in Alberta, I suggested to him that maybe he should come home, and we would sell our big house, and move to Mini Lakes.  Mini Lakes use to be a seasonal trailer park, in which we had a 37 foot trailer and florida room on a lot for about the past 15 years.  About 10 years ago the park changed over from a seasonal park to a year round park, and people started putting on these beautiful modular units.  There are only about 10 seasonal people left.

If we could sell our big house and move there, we could live very comfortably and with a little tiny mortgage and no debt; this way, Luke would not have to work away from home and we could travel more and do things we have always wanted to do.  Life would be wonderful.

So, as the story goes........we de-clutterd, and put the house on the market.  We went a head and ordered our modular unit, had the trees cut down, had the pad poured, went and saw our unit while it was being built..........but our house still did not sell.

By spring, when the market was getting hot for real estate, we signed up with a realtor. We signed the contract for 90 days.  In 90 days, he did not show the house once...........not once, and when we asked to get out of the contract, he wouldn't let us.

Once the 90 days was over, we were in the heat of the summer and the real estate market had slowed down.  Now it is autumn and the house is still not sold.  Our new house has been delivered, we have poured concrete around outside, built the stairs into the unit, had hardwood flooring put down, painted; new appliances delivered and most of our stuff has been moved there.

We want to live in our new home.  We go down there and we never want to leave.  But our big house is not sold yet...........and the insurance company says we have to live in it or they won't insure it.  So we are stuck.......stuck paying for both homes, utilities on both homes and we are misserable.....we want to move.

So that's the story...............not a pretty one...............but it's what has happened.

Welcome to the trailer..........................

Luke and I have moved (or are trying to move...long story) to the trailer park that we have been in seasonally for about 15 years.  We have put on a 1,000 sq foot modular home and we love it.

So this little blog is about our life as we go forward.  I may not post often, or post many pictures, but would appreciate if you sign on as a follower.

So, as we go forward, this is our life, Big Luke, Claudia, Parker and Pepper (our 2 cats)
